Dates: August 18 – 21
Due to the pandemic situation we are facing in the world, our Nordic film market New Nordic Films will this year be arranged as a combination of a smaller physical market with a limited number of attendees on site in Haugesund and an online market for international film professionals.
We will promote upcoming films from the Nordic countries, Works in Progress, Works in Progress nominated to the Eurimages Project Lab Award and projects in development in our Nordic Co-Production and Finance Market, as well as focus on the Nordic film industry through industry talks with directors and producers and networking events as one-to-one meetings both on site and online.
New Nordic Films – On site in Haugesund
We aim to have directors and producers behind the projects presented present in Haugesund, meaning the work in progress and projects presentations will take place in Haugesund, with some professionals attending from Europe. For those present we will also arrange smaller networking events and cosy social outings and dinners so we can provide grounds for further collaborations and informal networking.
New Nordic Films – Online Special Edition
The online edition will consist of promotion of upcoming films, with works in progress and project presentations being filmed in Haugesund and made available for individual screenings on our online platform. Festival programmers from all of the major film festivals, buyers and distributors and international sales agents can follow the content from all over the world.
Both on-site and online participants will get networking opportunities and we will highlight who is attending where so we can create a digital community, and build a bridge between the ones attending at the online market and on site. We believe this will be an efficient Nordic market, and we are excited to welcome the festival world to Haugesund even though most professionals will attend the market from their offices around the world.
Creative Europe support to New Nordic Films 2020
We are proud and grateful to announce that New Nordic Films, for the 11th year in row, has been selected to benefit from support from Creative Europe “Access to markets” where the main aim is to increase awareness of European films, circulation and provide efficient platform for professional exchange and networking in the A/V industry.
