Who’s the next director to emerge on the Nordic scene?

The new initiative Scandinavian Debut will give the participants at New Nordic Films an unique opportunity to discover new talent from Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

Scandinavian Debut is a pitching forum for Scandinavian first feature directors. Ten projects will be presented during the pitch.

In a five minute pitch the directors and/or the producers will present their projects to an invited panel and an audience of producers, distributors, sales agents and funders. The winner will receive a development and/or production grant of 50000 NOK.

”With this initiative we want to give Scandinavian talents the opportunity to present themselves and their projects on a Nordic and international arena. As international co-productions play an increasingly important role also for feature film debutants, New Nordic Films is a perfect platform for kickstarting their projects” says Anders Fristad Rudolph from Film LAB Norway, one of the project managers of Scandinavian Debut.

The panel: Stephen Locke, Berlinale delegate and the producers Kristine Knudsen and Martin Persson

Scandic Maritim Hotel Salongene, Thursday 24 August  at 15:00.

Scandinavian Debut is hosted by the talent programs FilmLab Norway, STHLM Debut, Pure Fiction and Producing People, the organisations Film i Skåne, Filmbasen, Filmregion Stockholm-Mälardalen and Film LAB Norway and in collaboration with New Nordic Films.
